The Opportunity:
A high-growth, Private Equity-backed B2B services group is seeking an ambitious Group Financial Controller to play a critical role in strengthening and professionalising the finance function during an exciting period of growth and transformation.
Operating across a multi-entity, contract-driven environment with revenues in the region of £80–100m, the business is executing a buy-and-build strategy and integrating recently acquired operations, creating increasing complexity across financial reporting, controls and governance.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will take ownership of the group’s financial control environment, ensuring robust reporting, strong financial governance and the successful integration of new acquisitions into a scalable finance framework.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role within a business preparing for its next phase of value creation. The successful candidate will have significant exposure to the CFO, Board and Private Equity investors while helping build a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting future growth.
The Role:
The Group Financial Controller will lead the financial control agenda across the group, overseeing consolidated reporting, statutory compliance, audit management and the development of robust financial processes and controls.

You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information while driving improvements in process, systems and governance across a growing and evolving business.
Alongside core controllership responsibilities, the role will play a key part in supporting integration activity, helping standardise reporting across acquisitions and ensuring the finance function is equipped to scale effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the group month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Own the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts across multiple entities
- Develop and maintain a robust financial control framework across the group
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Manage the year-end audit process and act as primary contact for external auditors
- Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and cash controls
- Support the preparation of board reporting and investor reporting requirements
- Drive improvements in finance processes, controls and reporting efficiency
- Support integration of acquired businesses and standardisation of finance processes
- Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial governance across the business
- Lead and develop the financial accounting team, creating a high-performance culture
- Support treasury, working capital and cash management activities
- Ensure accurate accounting treatment of complex contracts and commercial arrangements
- Assist with financial due diligence, acquisition accounting and post-deal integration activity
- Support system enhancements and the ongoing evolution of the finance function

The Requirements:
The business is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware finance leader who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is motivated by the opportunity to build scalable finance infrastructure.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
- Strong financial control and reporting experience within a complex multi-entity environment
- Experience managing audits, statutory reporting and compliance requirements
- A strong understanding of financial controls, governance and risk management
- Previous exposure to Private Equity-backed, acquisitive or high-growth businesses
- Experience integrating acquisitions and standardising processes across multiple entities
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Strong systems capability and experience improving finance processes
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop finance teams
- Commercial awareness and ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- The ambition to help build a scalable, investor-grade finance function
