Group Financial Controller
Northamptonshire | Private Equity Backed SME | Transformation Journey | Leadership Role
We're working with an ambitious, private equity-backed SME in Northamptonshire that's entering an exciting period of growth, change and transformation.
As Group Financial Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the finance function, leading a talented team of 12 and partnering closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to drive performance, improve controls and support the next stage of the business's evolution.

This is far more than a traditional financial control role. You'll be at the heart of a business that's investing heavily in its people, systems and processes, helping to build a best-in-class finance function within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.

- Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of 12 across financial control, management reporting and AP/AR.
- Take ownership of the month-end, year-end and statutory reporting process.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance across the group.
- Drive process improvements, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to improve financial performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and business planning.
- Act as a key contact for auditors, banks and external stakeholders.
- Play a leading role in ERP, systems and continuous improvement projects.
About You
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller within a fast-paced SME or mid-sized business.
- Strong technical accounting background combined with a commercial mindset.
- Experience leading and developing sizeable finance teams.
- Comfortable operating within a changing, private equity-backed or high-growth environment.
- A proactive leader who enjoys improving processes and influencing change.
