We are partnering with a highly successful, large‑scale UK business backed by significant investment and operating at pace across a complex, multi‑site environment. With an established market presence and ambitious growth plans, this organisation offers both scale and opportunity—making it an exceptional platform for an aspiring finance leader.
As part of their continued evolution, they are seeking an ambitious and high‑calibre Financial Controller to join their senior finance team in a pivotal, high‑visibility role.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will act as a true deputy. Managing a team of 6 and playing a central role in safeguarding the integrity of the group's financial control environment while helping to shape the future direction of the finance function.
This is a broad, high‑impact role combining technical accounting leadership, people management, and regular interaction with senior stakeholders. You will also play a key role in managing the external audit process and driving continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously enhance the Group financial control framework, ensuring robustness and scalability
- Act as the technical accounting lead, with particular focus on IFRS standards and complex accounting issues
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team (c.6), building capability and driving performance
- Manage and coordinate the external audit process, ensuring efficient delivery and resolution of findings
- Drive improvements across financial reporting, controls, and wider finance processes
- Support the evolution of a best‑in‑class finance function aligned to a growing business
About You
- Fully qualified accountant - ideally ACA (or ACCA) with a strong technical grounding
- Deep understanding of IFRS and technical accounting, with the ability to interpret and apply standards in a commercial environment
- Background in financial control within a fast‑paced, commercially driven organisation
- Proven leadership ability, with experience developing and influencing others
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to operate at senior levels
- Ambitious, driven, and motivated to progress into broader finance leadership roles

This role is best suited to candidates from similarly dynamic, operationally complex environments (e.g., multi‑site, consumer, FMCG, logistics, or related sectors). Experience gained solely in banking or the public sector is unlikely to align with the pace and commercial focus of this business.
