Location: Middlesex (Hybrid)

Package: £100,000 - £130,000 + Bonus

The Opportunity

A private equity-backed Professional Services business is seeking a commercially minded Group Financial Controller. Operating across a diverse range of technical and professional end markets, the business has established a strong market position and continues to invest in both organic growth and operational improvement.

This is a key leadership role within the finance function, offering significant exposure to the CFO and wider leadership team. The successful candidate will play a central role in strengthening financial control, improving processes, and delivering high-quality reporting and insight across the group.

The Role

You will take ownership of group financial control, reporting, compliance, and cash management, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of monthly group management accounts and reporting
  • Management of group consolidations across multiple entities
  • Production of board and investor reporting packs
  • Responsibility for statutory accounts and year-end audit process
  • Full balance sheet ownership and control environment management
  • Oversight of cash flow forecasting and working capital performance
  • Business partnering with operational and senior leadership teams
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning cycles
  • Driving process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
  • Development and management of the finance team
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance, and compliance frameworks
  • Supporting system enhancements and reporting automation

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Strong financial control and group reporting experience
  • Experience managing audits, statutory reporting, and consolidations
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical capability
  • Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable influencing senior leadership
  • Experience within professional services, business services, or multi-entity environments advantageous
  • Prior exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth businesses preferred
  • Process improvement and systems development experience beneficial
