Job Title: Group Financial Controller
Location: 2/3 days p/w on-site in London
Eton Bridge Partners is working exclusively with a high-growth, private equity-backed fintech to appoint a Group Financial Controller.
This is a senior, high-profile finance role reporting directly to the CFO, with significant exposure to the Leadership Team and Board.
The role will play a central part in strengthening financial control, enhancing reporting quality, improving automation and scalability, and supporting the business through its next phase of growth. As a key member of the finance leadership team, the successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial insight, helping to shape decision-making and prepare the organisation for future value creation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and enhance the financial control environment, ensuring robust governance, compliance and accountability across the business.
- Lead external audits and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers and other external stakeholders.
- Ensure balance sheet integrity, effective cash management and strong working capital discipline.
- Take full ownership of the month-end close process, delivering timely, accurate and insightful management reporting.
- Produce high-quality management accounts with meaningful variance analysis, performance commentary and forward-looking insight.
- Drive improvements in reporting efficiency, scalability and data quality through automation, systems development and process enhancement.
- Prepare Leadership Team and Board reporting packs, providing clear insight into financial and operational performance.
- Support strategic decision-making through scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and investment appraisal.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, challenging assumptions and driving accountability for performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Review and enhance finance systems, controls and reporting processes to support continued growth and scalability.

Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
- Proven experience operating as a Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller or similar senior finance leader.
- Strong financial control, statutory reporting and governance experience.
- Track record of improving financial processes, controls and reporting within a growing or changing environment.
- Experience driving automation, systems enhancements and finance transformation initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders and translate financial information into actionable insight.
- Demonstrable experience supporting Board reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
- Experience developing and mentoring finance teams.
- Exposure to investor reporting, due diligence, private equity-backed businesses or exit preparation would be highly advantageous.
- Previous experience within fintech, payments, financial services or another regulated environment is desirable.
