Group Financial Controller | £150,000 + Bonus + Outstanding Benefits
Remote/London based (UK) | Occasional European Travel
A rare opportunity to join a high-growth international tech business undergoing significant transformation and investment. The business has just been purchased by a larger corporate.
We are seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead the Financial Control function of just under 20 people and help build a scalable, best-in-class finance organisation capable of supporting the next phase of growth. This role reports directly to the CFO and offers significant visibility across the business, combining operational finance leadership, financial control, systems transformation, governance and integration work.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional Financial Controller position.
You'll be the operational leader of the finance function, responsible for ensuring the business has the processes, controls, systems and reporting capabilities needed to thrive as part of a global organisation. You'll play a key role in:
- Strengthening financial controls and governance
- Driving SOX readiness and compliance initiatives
- Leading finance transformation and process improvement
- Supporting the future integration of systems and processes
- Building a scalable finance operating model
- Developing and leading an internationally dispersed finance team
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions
- Lead consolidated reporting and month-end close activities
- Strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks
- Manage external audit relationships

Finance Operations
Lead and develop teams across:
- Financial Reporting
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Treasury
- Payroll
- Procurement
- Finance Systems
Transformation & Integration
- Assess and improve the current finance operating model
- Drive automation and process efficiencies
- Improve finance systems, controls and policies
- Support the roadmap for future systems integration
- Implement KPIs and service levels across finance operations
Treasury & Working Capital
- Oversee banking, treasury and foreign exchange activities
- Optimise liquidity and cash management
- Improve working capital performance
- Safeguard company assets while supporting growth initiatives
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Coach and develop a geographically distributed team
- Partner closely with FP&A and senior leadership
- Build relationships with auditors, banks and external stakeholders
- Represent Finance on key strategic projects
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Significant experience in Group Finance, Financial Control or Head of Finance leadership roles
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
- Experience operating within complex, multi-entity international businesses
- Demonstrable success leading finance transformation programmes
- Exposure to SOX, governance and listed company environments
- Experience improving controls, processes and finance systems
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

Package
- £150,000 base salary

Location
This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel across Europe to support business operations, leadership collaboration and finance transformation initiatives. The finance team is internationally dispersed, with colleagues based across all European locations.
The role offers the flexibility of remote working while providing exposure to a diverse, international business operating across multiple jurisdictions.
We are seeking someone who is ACA/ACCA qualified, practice trained, then have gone into an International or Group Financial Controller position. Must have managed a sizeable team and ideally available in less than 3 months notice. Must have strong finance transformation, systems experience and be very strong on technical accounting. Must have SOX experience. Ideally would have managed a financial operations team, accounts payable/receivable also.
