Group Financial Controller
A leading international investment management business is seeking to appoint a Group Financial Controller to join its high-performing finance team. This is a newly created position, reflecting the company's continued growth through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad, hands-on leadership role with responsibility across financial control, reporting, governance, and business partnering. You will play a key role in strengthening the finance function, supporting acquisitions and the integration of newly acquired businesses, while helping drive the continued evolution of finance through process optimization, automation, and the adoption of new technologies, including AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close, management accounts, and statutory reporting processes.
- Maintain and enhance a robust financial control environment, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a trusted business partner to the CFO and senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
- Support acquisitions from a finance perspective, including due diligence, integration, and the implementation of scalable finance processes.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives, leveraging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and control.
- Manage the year-end audit process and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisers, and other professional advisers.
- Continually review and enhance finance systems, reporting capabilities, and operational processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and wider financial planning activities.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the finance team where appropriate.
Experience Required
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience gained within the investment management or funds industry.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with a commercially minded, hands-on approach.
- Experience delivering high-quality management and statutory reporting.
- A track record of improving finance processes through the effective use of technology, automation, or AI-enabled solutions would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior leadership level.
- Previous experience supporting acquisitions, finance integration, or transformation projects is highly desirable.
