Group Governance & Risk Manager
We are partnering with a purpose-driven organisation seeking an experienced Group Governance & Risk Manager to take ownership of its governance, risk, and assurance framework.
Reporting into the executive leadership team and working closely with Board members, you will:
- Ensure strong corporate governance practices
- Provide robust oversight and effective risk management across the organisation
This is a highly visible role, offering the opportunity to:
- Shape governance processes
- Support strategic decision-making
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead adviser on governance, compliance, and corporate assurance matters
- Build and enhance governance structures that support effective leadership and decision-making
- Develop and oversee enterprise-wide risk management processes and reporting
- Lead audit and assurance programmes, ensuring recommendations are translated into meaningful improvements
- Maintain oversight of:
- Corporate policies
- Regulatory compliance
- Information governance requirements
- Foster strong relationships with:
- Senior stakeholders
- Board members
- Committees

Requirements
Successful applicants will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in senior governance, ideally within a regulated sector
- A proven ability to develop and embed governance, assurance, and risk frameworks at an organisational level
- A strong track record of advising Boards, committees, and senior executives
- Experience in:
- Managing internal audit activity
- Driving improvements through assurance findings
- Knowledge of:
- Data protection legislation
- Wider compliance obligations
- An influential leader with:
- Excellent judgement
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to navigate complex environments
