Job Title: Group Health & Safety Advisor

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Location: Home Based, South East, with travel to depots

About The Role Of Health & Safety Advisor

To support the business leadership team to create additional value across the group, through business improvement and manage assurance and compliance frameworks that protect value created.

  • Lead a positive health and safety culture throughout the Group.
  • Create and implement plans to reduce Health & Safety risks.
  • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on Health and Safety matters and ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation/regulations and associated legislation
  • Support the Head of Health & Safety in the development and implementation of the health and safety strategy for the Chevron Group.

Responsibilities Of a Health & Safety Advisor

  • Assist in the development of risk assessments and safe working procedures.
  • Contribute towards establishing and maintaining a programme of continuous improvement, by investigating and analysing key trends, risks and issues and developing and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • To effectively implement the Company’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policies and promote at all levels, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Ensure delivery of training interventions, including toolbox talks, to raise awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor safety training records through internal auditing.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry bodies and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Participate in the development of emergency response plans and ensure effective implementation.

Essential Attributes For a Health & Safety Advisor

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite of software, inc. Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365 apps etc
  • Proven health and safety experience operating in a high-risk sector
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and trust
  • Adaptability, flexibility and ability to cope with uncertainty and change
