Our client is part of a large, privately owned group, a quality-driven manufacturing business with a long-established reputation for product excellence, customer care, and attention to detail. Utilising the positive attributes associated with being a family-owned company, the business has gained competitive advantage through a flexible, forward-thinking, and long-term approach to their markets.

Led by innovation, they have turned traditional manufacturing processes on their heads to offer desirable brands and products to meet modern needs. They have developed true partnerships with their suppliers, leading to the development of materials that are more sustainable and future-proof to fulfil their commitment to produce the best products for their customers. Backed by a commitment to customer service excellence, build quality, and unrivalled craftsmanship, they aim to be the brand of choice for their target customers.

With long-term market foundations in place, a suitably experienced and highly capable Group Procurement Director is now required to take responsibility for end-to-end procurement across the manufacturing brands within the group. At the intersection of supply chain, production, and commercial performance, the Group Procurement Director will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality products within a complex, multi-site manufacturing operation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
