Position Summary

An exciting opportunity exists within the Group Property/GBS Team in Poland or the UK, reporting to the Vice President of Strategy & Performance.

As the Group Property Capital Controller, you will:

  • Manage and govern property-related capital expenditure to meet investment requirements and affordability targets.
  • Ensure global property investments align with strategic priorities, continually improving efficiency and capabilities for the FTSE-5 business.
  • Provide essential financial oversight alongside the Central Finance Capital Manager throughout the capital cycle.

This role is ideal for someone with: ✔ Strong financial preparation, data accuracy, and cross-functional coordination skills. ✔ Process discipline and passion for refining governance structures. ✔ Ability to lead training and best practice across property investments globally.

1. Investment Committee (IC) Preparation

  • Collaborate with global business and investment case teams to prepare inputs for IC submissions.
  • Ensure submission aligns with Investment Case Requirements and affordability targets.

2. Direct Scheme Support

  • Develop financial inputs, documentation, and compliance requirements for Group Property (GP) capital investments.
  • Establish frameworks to ensure standardization and adherence to governance protocols.

3. Capital Data Preparation

  • Lead the validation, consolidation, and reporting of GP-related financial models and data with:
    • Accuracy guaranteed.
    • Agreed timelines strictly adhered to.

4. Business Case Leadership

  • Coordinate and prioritize property investment demands to streamline governance approvals.
  • Ensure investments meet approved processes and targets.

5. Governance & Assurance

  • Drive improvements to reporting standards and processes for right-first-time quality.
  • Implement enhanced controls across the capital lifecycle.

6. Tracking & Monitoring

  • Oversee annual, quarterly, and yearly budget tracking against established targets.
  • Monitor AP’ly commitments and financial adherence.

7. Budgeting & Forecasting Support

  • Maintain data integrity (e.g., property sales inputs) for robust GP forecasts.
  • Refine assumptions and reporting to ensure financial transparency.

8. Champion Process Improvements

  • Lead initiatives to streamline data management, reporting, and governance efficiencies.

Position Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent (in progress) in:
    • Finance.
    • Commercial disciplines.
  • Extensive business experience with a finance and data management focus (in lieu of formal degree).
  • Proven proficiency in:
    • Financial systems (e.g., ERP, BI tools).
    • Spreadsheets (Advanced Excel/Google Sheets).
    • Data analysis and reporting tools.

Preferred

  • Direct experience in:
    • Financial and Capital Management.
    • Capital investment processes.
  • Professional qualifications beneficial (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, AAT).
  • Familiarity with:
    • Stakeholder management in high-impact governance roles.
