Group Regulatory Compliance Officer – JMG Group

As part of our ongoing growth journey, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Group Regulatory Compliance Officer to lead and support our Compliance Team. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this newly created role will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the Group’s regulatory and compliance framework within a dynamic FCA-regulated insurance broking and MGA environment.

Please note, this role can be based out of any of our regional compliance hubs in Guiseley, Gosforth, or Glasgow.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the successful candidate will:

  • Help embed regulatory requirements into everyday operations
  • Promote a strong culture of compliance
  • Support the delivery of consistently positive customer outcomes in line with Consumer Duty expectations

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Delivery & Enhancement

  • Drive and continuously enhance the Group’s compliance monitoring and quality assurance program
  • Conduct file reviews, audits, and thematic reviews, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Investigate complaints and errors, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remedial actions
  • Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially aware compliance advice to the business
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed regulatory requirements in a practical and proportionate way
  • Produce and own compliance MI, ensuring timely and insightful reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency
  • Support risk identification, assessment, and reporting across the Group

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with FCA requirements, including Consumer Duty, TCF, GDPR, and financial crime controls
  • Support onboarding and due diligence of third parties and introducers, where required

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team, ensuring both individual and business objectives are met
  • Manage performance through regular coaching, feedback, and development planning
  • Prioritise workloads, allocate resources effectively, and deliver projects on time
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that fosters collaboration and accountability
  • Experience managing change and supporting teams through regulatory, operational, and organisational developments
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, providing clear direction in a fast-paced environment

Skills & Experience

Professional Background

  • Proven experience within an FCA-regulated environment, preferably in insurance broking
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, with knowledge of Consumer Duty
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and take ownership of deliverables
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness, balancing regulatory requirements with business needs
  • Resilience and adaptability to excel in challenging, high-pressure environments
