GROUP REPORTING ADVISOR
London | 6–12-month contract | Potential to become permanent
Our client is seeking a high-calibre Group Reporting Advisor to join its Group Reporting & Consolidation team within a complex, international energy organisation.
This is a hands-on position offering significant ownership across external reporting, statutory accounts and technical accounting. It would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys delivering high-quality reporting, working across international teams and improving how a growing reporting function operates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the preparation of quarterly shareholder financial reporting packs and support investor queries
- Manage the delivery of group and subsidiary statutory financial statements from preparation through to submission
- Act as the Group’s IFRS 16 specialist, advising on the application and treatment of lease accounting
- Support the preparation and assurance of group deferred-tax balances in accordance with IAS 12
- Monitor and evidence compliance with bond covenants
- Support group consolidation, audit requirements and external compliance deadlines
- Work closely with external auditors, senior stakeholders, local finance teams and outsourced providers
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve reporting processes and reduce manual activity

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE
You will gain hands-on ownership across:

- Complex reporting and compliance requirements
OWNERSHIP AND IMPROVEMENT
- Take responsibility for key reporting deliverables from preparation through to completion
- Act as a technical point of contact across the business
- Help improve reporting controls, processes and efficiency
- Gain visibility across the wider Group Reporting and Consolidation function

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent
- Strong group financial reporting experience
- Hands-on experience preparing statutory financial statements
- Practical working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 16
- Experience within a multi-entity or international organisation
- Comfortable working with external auditors and senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage demanding external deadlines
- Proactive, improvement-minded and confident taking ownership of reporting deliverables
A practice-trained accountant who has subsequently moved into an industry group-reporting role would be particularly well suited.
Experience within oil and gas, energy or another complex international organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
