Group Reporting Accountant

Grafton Banks Finance is working with an award-winning general insurer, based in the City, to recruit a Group Reporting Accountant.

Working as part of a high calibre group finance team this role is responsible for processing, analysis and oversight of the groups consolidated result and financial position, supporting the regular financial reporting cycle fulfilling all the Group reporting requirements.

We are looking for a qualified accountant, either already working in a financial reporting or group accounting role and looking for their next challenge, or someone making their first move into industry from practice. In both cases insurance industry experience is essential.

Salary for this role is up to £72,000 + benefits including bonus and healthcare. The role is hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week.

Key tasks:

  • Support the Group’s month end, quarter end and annual group closing processes, which will include preparing the group consolidation under IFRS, group intercompany reconciliations, and group expense allocations.
  • Preparation of quarter-end group analysis including leading the groups IFRS 16 processes, calculating the ECL impairment on group’s investments under IFRS 9, preparing the finance inputs into the actuarial IFRS 17 process, preparing the IFRS 17 adjustment journal based on actuarial IFRS 17 reserve calculations.
  • Support the Group’s month end, quarter end and annual group regulatory closing processes under Solvency II.
  • Monitoring the monthly reinsurance bookings made by UK and European finance teams and responsible for preparation quarterly reinsurance statements.
  • Preparation of financial statements for some entities within the group.

This is a broad role, we are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills who is able to prioritise work. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
