Group Risk Advisor

Location: Manchester City Centre | Hybrid Working Available Post-Probation Salary: £45,000 -£55,000 + Uncapped Commission + Benefits OTE: Six-Figure Earnings Achievable in Year One

This is a unique opportunity to become the Group Risk specialist within an established and award-winning brokerage that already generates significant demand through its extensive broker and referral network. The business has built an outstanding reputation within the protection market and is now investing in the continued growth of its Group Risk proposition. They are seeking an experienced advisor who can bring expertise, market knowledge and commercial acumen to help maximise a growing stream of opportunities. This role offers the chance to work within a high-performing environment whilst enjoying the autonomy to influence and develop a specialist area of the business.

The Opportunity

As a Group Risk Sales Advisor, you will be responsible for advising SME and corporate clients on a range of Group Risk solutions including:

  • Group Life Assurance
  • Group Critical Illness
  • Group Income Protection
  • Private Medical Insurance (PMI)

Working with a panel of leading insurers, you will provide tailored recommendations that meet client requirements whilst helping to establish and grow the Group Risk offering within the business.

You will engage directly with business owners, HR professionals and senior decision-makers, delivering consultative advice and building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with SME and corporate clients
  • Advise clients on Group Risk and PMI products
  • Conduct detailed fact-finds and needs analysis
  • Source and compare solutions from a panel of insurers
  • Convert warm inbound opportunities and self-generated business into revenue
  • Deliver compliant and tailored recommendations
  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities
  • Engage with HR Directors, Finance Directors and business owners
  • Liaise with insurers and internal teams to ensure smooth policy implementation
  • Provide market insight and expertise to support the continued growth of the proposition

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

  • Proven experience selling Group Risk products
  • Strong knowledge of Group Life, Group Critical Illness and Group Income Protection
  • Experience working within an insurance broker or intermediary environment
  • A demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Experience advising on PMI products would be advantageous but is not essential.
