Our multi-office presence in Central and Southern England—with ambitious expansion plans—now opens a permanent full-time or part-time opportunity for a Senior Manager in the Compliance team.
Remote and flexible work options, including travel to Group offices, are negotiable.
About the Role
You’ll support the Integration & Compliance Director in implementing the Shaw Gibbs Group compliance strategy, driving meaningful impact through cross-office initiatives in dynamic, risk-governance focused work.
As Senior Manager, Compliance, you’ll spearhead compliance activities across the organization, uniting the AML standardisation, fraud prevention, ethical conduct, and Data Protection By-law (DPB) compliance efforts while embedding a proactive risk culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and embed a risk-aware culture through training, communication, and conversations across the Group.
- Oversee regulatory applications for new acquisitions (e.g., ICAEW/ACCA compliance, AMLregister, DBP) to ensure seamless compliance approvals.
- Maintain relationships with professional bodies (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW) and cross-government regulators.
- Provide clear, accurate reporting to the Compliance Director on breaches, risks, and compliance progress.
- Lead the Group risk register and develop a consolidated risk governance framework, covering:
- Financial, operational, technology, reputational, and strategic risks
- Ensure risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.
- Draft and implement Group-wide regulatory guidelines, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Generate risk reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders and Board level, highlighting key regulatory trends and mitigations.
- Integrate MLCP regulatory roles into the compliance structure.
- Align with GDPR regulations and follow IC OAuth procedures for reports and notices.
- Collaborate with IT Partners on governance forums.
- Handle day-to-day risk and compliance queries via our shared inbox, supporting businesses proactively.

What You Bring
Qualifications & Background
- 5+ years’ experience in UK compliance (preferably within:
- Accountancy or legal practice environments).
- Regulator experience (e.g., ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA compliance teams, FCA prerogatives) or post-compliance in related sectors (audit, asset management).
- Proven regulatory risk appetite, covering: CDD (Customer Due Diligence), Anti-Bribery, Anti-Fraud, and GDPR.
Technical & Cultural Fit
- An active collaborator, known among colleagues for ethical conduct, stakeholder alignment, and cross-team influence.
- Thrives in an ambitious atmosphere with a mindset of continuous technical growth.
- Verbal and written sophistication enables seamless dialogue with senior stakeholders (Partners, Tech Teams, Client Directors).
- Diligent, organized, and prioritization-minded with a focus on high-quality output under tight deadlines.
Legal & Practical Requirements
- UK driver’s license for inter-site travel and conference attendance
