Group Risk & Compliance Manager

Group Risk and Compliance Manager

We are working with a rapidly expanding top 35 accountancy practice to hire a Group Risk and Compliance Manager for their compliance team. In this role, you will support the director in delivering the overarching compliance strategy, coordinating group-wide risk governance frameworks and managing the integration activities for newly acquired UK firms.

About the Role

The firm is seeking a senior professional with a minimum of 5 years of UK regulatory experience, gained either within a professional services practice or directly with a relevant regulatory body. The ideal candidate must possess:

  • A strong foundational understanding of risk management
  • Expertise in: data protection, anti-bribery, and customer due diligence (CDD)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in building collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple regional locations

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and embed a comprehensive group-wide risk governance framework
  • Maintain the central risk register across all business operations
  • Coordinate compliance integration for newly acquired firms
  • Manage regulatory applications to professional bodies for service lines such as audit and financial crime
  • Prepare detailed risk reports and summary dashboards for senior management and the board, highlighting key exposures and trends
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of risk and compliance activities, including:
    • Managing team workflows
    • Addressing ad hoc business queries
  • Draft, implement, and communicate new regulatory guidelines across the organisation to foster a proactive compliance culture
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with:
    • External professional bodies
    • Internal partners to ensure timely regulatory risk reporting
  • Assess strategic compliance processes and advise on suitable software solutions to support business expansion
  • Consult with internal IT teams and service line partners to establish cross-group compliance governance forums

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ UK regulatory experience (preferably in professional services or regulatory bodies)
  • Deep knowledge of risk management, data protection, anti-bribery compliance, and CDD
  • Demonstrated ability to lead stewardship of compliance teams and drive regulatory initiatives
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
