Group Risk and Compliance Manager – Top 35 UK Accountancy Practice
About the Role
We are collaborating with a fast-growing top 35 accountancy practice to recruit a Group Risk and Compliance Manager for their compliance team. This role involves supporting the director to deliver the firm’s overarching compliance strategy, coordinate group-wide risk governance frameworks, and oversee the integration of newly acquired UK firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and embed a comprehensive group-wide risk governance framework, while maintaining the central risk register across all business operations.
- Coordinate compliance integration of newly acquired firms and manage regulatory applications for professional bodies, including audit and financial crime service lines.
- Prepare detailed risk reports and summary dashboards for senior management and the board, highlighting key exposures and trends.
- Provide day-to-day oversight of risk and compliance activities, manage team workflows, and address ad hoc queries from stakeholders.
- Draft, implement, and communicate new regulatory guidelines across the organisation to foster a proactive compliance culture.
- Maintain strong relationships with professional bodies, internal partners, and senior management to ensure effective regulatory risk reporting.
- Assess strategic compliance processes and advise on suitable software solutions to support business expansion.
- Consult with internal IT teams and service line partners to facilitate cross-group compliance governance forums.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of UK regulatory experience, gained within a professional services practice or directly with a relevant regulatory body.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Risk management
- Data protection
- Anti-bribery policies
- Customer due diligence (CDD)
- Combination of analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside proven communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders across multiple regional locations.
