Group Social Content Creator - AVP

Job Description: Group Social Content Creator (Assistant Vice President)

Purpose of the Role

To create engaging and impactful graphics and video content.

Accountabilities

  • Design of graphics for use in a range of digital and physical channels.
  • Management of filming and post-production edit processes.

Key Accountabilities (AVP Level)

  • Decision-making & strategy: Advise on, influence, and shape policy development, ensuring operational effectiveness across the business.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other functions/business divisions to align goals and strategies.
  • Team leadership: Lead a team performing complex tasks, leveraging advanced professional knowledge and skills to deliver enterprise-wide impact.
  • Coaching & objectives: Set performance objectives, conduct appraisals, and manage reward outcomes for employees.
  • Operational risk & governance: Identify, mitigate risk, and develop new policies/procedures to support control agendas.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Work closely with other business areas to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Data-driven problem-solving: Analyze complex, multi-source data (internal/external) to create creative, effective solutions.
  • Stakeholder influence: Communicate nonsensitive but complex information and influence stakeholders to drive outcomes.

About the Role: Group Social Content Creator (AVP)

Barclays’ Group Creative Services seeks a highly creative, social-first Group Social Content Creator (AVP). Reporting to the Head of Group Creative Services and collaborating with the Group Social team, this role will shape Barclays’ digital storytelling by creating impactful, platform-native content across:

  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube
  • X

Key Responsibilities

  • Social content creation: Design high-performing, channel-specific content from concept to delivery.
  • Campaign & sponsorship alignment: Work with Barclays’ high-profile campaigns and brand initiatives.
  • Innovation & trend-drived storytelling: Advise on social-first creative approaches, develop audience-led content, and champion engaging storytelling.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with diverse business functions to align content with broader strategics.
  • Capacity-building: Help grow Barclays’ in-house social content capability and creative studio strengths.

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven track record: Creating engaging, high-performing social content with a portfolio showcasing:
    • Social-first storytelling & content production across multiple platforms.
    • Proven ability to drive engagement through innovative creative strategies.
  • Expert technical skills:
    • Video production & editing: Filming, photography, and end-to-end content creation using:
      • Professional cameras
      • Mobile devices
      • Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects).
    • Platform mastery: Deep understanding of:
      • TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X.
      • Trends, audience behaviours, and best practices tailored to each platform.
  • Collaboration & communication:
    • Organisational agility in delivering high-quality creative work at pace.
    • Stakeholder management across complex, regulated environments.
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining excellence.
  • (Optional) Assessment readiness: Will be assessed on critical skills in:
    • Risk & controls, change & transformation, digital/technology, and strategic thinking.
  • Flexible working: Willingness to work outside standard hours (evenings, weekends) due to live events/content capture priorities.
