We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity within the aerospace sector, working as part of a collaborative Business Development team to prepare accurate, commercially competitive estimates for fast-paced "Speed Shop/AOG" requirements and new business opportunities.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new business by producing detailed cost estimates and supporting the development of winning customer proposals. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, and Programme teams, you'll ensure estimates are technically robust, commercially competitive, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and compile accurate estimates in response to customer requests for quotation and proposals.
  • Analyse customer drawings, specifications, datasets, and supply requirements to identify material, subcontract, and manufacturing needs.
  • Develop detailed cost models covering raw materials, bought-out items, subcontract operations, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to produce competitive bid submissions.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of estimating best practices.
  • Liaise with machine tool and cutting tool manufacturers to identify optimal manufacturing solutions and investment opportunities.
  • Present cost proposals to customers, explaining estimating assumptions and demonstrating technical capability.
  • Support the successful handover of awarded projects to the Programmes team, ensuring bid assumptions and manufacturing strategies are clearly communicated.
  • Review estimating activity and pipeline performance with the Business Development team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
