We make health happen! At Bupa, we're helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. As a healthcare business with no shareholders, our focus is always on our customers and the communities we serve.
We're looking for a Group Strategy Manager to join our Group Strategy and Transformation team. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of Bupa's global business, helping shape the strategic decisions that influence our future direction across health insurance and healthcare services.
You'll join a small, supportive and high-performing team that works closely with Bupa's executive leadership team and Board. From identifying growth opportunities and analysing market trends, to helping deliver major strategic initiatives, you'll play an important role in turning ambitious ideas into action. This is an opportunity to combine strategic thinking, commercial insight and problem solving while working on some of the most important opportunities and challenges facing a global healthcare organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Help shape Bupa's group-wide strategy and support long-term planning activities.
- Support the delivery of strategic projects and transformation programmes from initial research and analysis through to executive recommendations and global mobilisation.
- Conduct market, competitor and industry research to identify emerging trends and strategic opportunities.
- Analyse customer, clinical, operational and financial data to uncover drivers of performance and growth.
- Structure complex business challenges, test strategic hypotheses and develop clear, actionable recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, reports and briefing materials for senior leaders, executives and Board audiences.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Bupa's markets and business units to support strategic planning activities.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation and act as a trusted partner on strategy-related initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement within the Strategy team by identifying more effective ways of working.
- Share knowledge and help develop strategy capability across the wider business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
