Group Sustainability Specialist

We are passionate and excited about how we can develop and utilise new technologies to shape and inspire changes within an ever-growing marketplace. As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a full-time Group Sustainability Specialist to join our central Sustainability team to progress the execution of our nature-related commitments.

The role is about embedding practices across Croda in alignment with evolving reporting requirements to make an impact and contribute to a meaningful change for Croda and our stakeholders.


Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing, managing and accelerating projects to deliver against our nature-related targets (water, land and biodiversity)
  • Supporting the operational implementation by developing and rolling out frameworks, processes, tools, and guidance with sites, functions, and sectors
  • Contributing to external reporting driven by emerging regulatory and voluntary requirements linked to nature and water

Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Purposeful passion for sustainability
  • Degree in:
    • Environmental Sciences
    • Hydrology
    • Sustainability
    • Ecology
    • or a related field
  • Proven experience in:
    • Water stewardship, hydrology, catchment management, or water-related impact assessment with a solid understanding of biodiversity/nature impact mitigation
  • Familiarity with corporate water tools (e.g., WWF Water Risk Filter, WRI Aqueduct)
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data and analytical tools to monitor metrics

Experience

  • Ability to influence stakeholders with strong cross-functional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and analytical thinking
  • Proven ability to turn strategy and technical concepts into operational delivery and guidance, managing multiple projects under competing deadlines
  • Experience in manufacturing or chemicals environments is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., CSRD, ESRS, due diligence laws) is desirable but not essential
  • Experience with Scope 3, environmental data governance, nature metrics, or reporting frameworks is desirable but not essential

Behavioral Skills

  • Collaborative and agile mindset – bringing together disciplines to create scalable, impactful solutions

What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of a diverse, sustainability-driven team, where your contributions help shape forward-thinking advancements:

  • Develop, track, and forecast key nature-related metrics for growth and reporting
  • Support governance for KPIs, metrics, and nature standards across Kroda
  • Work crossfunctionally (Procurement, Operations, Finance, Communication, and businesses)
  • Write and own the development of internal policies and standards for sustainable practices
