Group Tax Manager

JOB PURPOSE
We are hiring a Group Tax Manager to lead our global tax compliance and reporting operations at Burberry. This role sits at the centre of our finance ecosystem, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting across markets while upholding strong governance standards. You will collaborate closely with teams across Finance, HR, and Legal, as well as external stakeholders, to drive consistency and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to shape how tax operates within a global luxury brand grounded in innovation and responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the delivery of global tax reporting, including year-end and interim processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the global corporation tax compliance cycle, managing third-party providers and ensuring all filings are complete.
- Review and sign off overseas tax submissions while maintaining strong governance standards.
- Manage UK tax compliance, including oversight of returns, quarterly instalment calculations, and cash flow forecasting support.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with HMRC, auditors, and internal stakeholders across Finance, HR, and Legal.
- Identify opportunities to enhance and standardise tax processes while embedding robust controls and supporting wider tax projects.

PERSONAL PROFILE
- Professionally qualified (ACA, CIMA, or equivalent and/or CTA) or with comparable experience.
- Experience in tax reporting and compliance, either in-house or within a professional services environment.
- Strong analytical capability, with experience using financial systems (e.g. SAP, OneStream, BPC, or HFM) and advanced Excel.
- Comfortable working across international markets with an understanding of cross-border tax considerations.
- Clear communicator, able to translate complex tax matters for a range of audiences.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
