Group Tax Manager
# UK Tax Manager Role at Vodafone
About the Role

This role sits at the heart of Group UK Tax, delivering the full annual cycle of tax compliance and reporting across Vodafone’s global infrastructure, treasury, and shared services.
You’ll work at the intersection of tax, finance, and systems—driving efficiency, managing complex reporting, and collaborating across HNWI mid-tier stakeholders from Auditors to HMRC. With mentorship from leadership (Senior Tax Manager/Head of UK Tax Compliance) and exposure to senior stakeholders, you’ll become a trusted business partner while making a tangible difference.
Key Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating major elements of UK tax compliance and reporting, such as:
- Corporation tax filings (including obvious deferred/technical intricacies)
- Statutory tax disclosures, group tax accounting
- Group relief, instalments, CFCs, CIR returns, withholding taxes
- Providing technical tax research and high-quality assurance to internal teams
- Supporting HMRC interactions, liaising with third party advisers, and maintaining SOX controls
- Enhancing processes through automation and emerging tech
- Stakeholder engagement with Audit, Compliance, and F&A—ensuring clarity, timeliness, and alignment

Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Chartered professional (ACA, ACCA, or CTA, or equivalent)
Experience & Expertise
Prioritised areas of alignment:
- 1–3 years post-qualification (advisory/corporate settings preferred)
- Heavy UK tax exposure, with hands-on experience in:
- Corporate taxpayer returns, computations, group relief claims
- Quarterly instalments and data package filings
- Disclosures (including functional technical reporting)
- Proven track record in technical due diligence (investment, loss introduction focus)
- Bonus: Familiarity with AlphaTax/Longview, SAP, or HFM (not essential, but highly regarded)
Foundational Strengths
- Technical skillset extending into financial reporting & automation
- Stakeholder management—able to navigate finance, tax, shared services, and HNW advisers
- Process improvement orientation (scalability insights considered advantageous)
