Group Travel Sales Manager
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
Location: Welwyn Garden City (Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Are you a commercially driven travel professional with a passion for creating exceptional group travel experiences? We're looking for a Group Travel Sales Manager for our client based in Welwyn Garden City to take ownership of a growing private groups programme, driving sales, developing new business opportunities and delivering outstanding customer service from initial enquiry through to post-holiday follow-up.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team where you'll have the autonomy to grow a key area of the business while building long-lasting relationships with customers, suppliers and partners.
The Role
As Group Travel Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial growth, operational delivery and overall success of the private groups programme. You'll manage the entire customer journey, from creating bespoke travel proposals and converting enquiries into bookings, through to ensuring every group enjoys an exceptional experience.
Working closely with Product, Marketing, Sales and Operations teams, you'll identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships and maximise revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Achieve agreed sales, revenue and profitability targets.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through excellent customer service and consultative selling.
- Prepare quotations, bespoke itineraries and travel proposals.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with group organisers and clients.
- Develop new business opportunities, partnerships and customer segments.
- Maximise opportunities through existing travel and walking partnerships while identifying new routes to market.
- Source, negotiate and contract accommodation, transport and destination services.
- Ensure supplier performance, service standards and sustainability requirements are maintained.
- Oversee pricing, costing and profitability of group bookings.
- Maintain accurate booking information, contracts and pricing within company systems.
- Coordinate the operational delivery of group tours and resolve issues proactively.
- Drive customer satisfaction, repeat business and referrals.
- Produce weekly sales and performance updates.
- Responsibility for one part-time member of staff.
- Lead, coach and develop team members, including recruitment and performance management.

Person Specification
You'll be a commercially minded individual with strong relationship-building skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in group travel, travel sales or account management.
- Strong sales, negotiation and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Good numeracy, literacy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience producing quotations, managing bookings and working with travel suppliers.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
