Group Treasury and Tax Manager
Group Treasury and Tax Manager – Permanent Role
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, UK Contract: Permanent (40 hours/week, hybrid working)

Hours: Semi-flexible (7:30 AM–6:00 PM, Mon–Fri) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
About the Role
The Group Treasury and Tax Manager will optimise cash and liquidity while ensuring compliance with tax regulations, operating as a crucial senior member of the Group Finance team.
Primary Focus:
- Management of UK Training Division’s Credit Control & Accounts Receivable.
- Subject matter expertise in treasury and tax globally, aiding cash flow optimisation and tax compliance.
Scope:
- Occasional travel within the UK, MENA, and USA.
- Reports directly to the CFO with broader stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Compliance
- Manage Credit Control & Accounts Receivable in the UK Training Division.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to optimise working capital and liquidity.
- Liaise with external tax advisors on compliance matters:
- VAT/Sales Tax
- Corporation Tax
- RDEC Claims, CIR and Thin Capitalisation
- Transfer pricing across global entities.
Liquidity & Banking Relations
- Lead cash and liquidity management (weekly updates, 13-week cash flow forecasts).
- Collaborate with the Group Finance Manager on improving cash flow forecasting accuracy.
- Manage Group banking relationships, consolidating accounts to optimise commercial terms.
- Report quarterly covenants to bondholders and Barclays bank.
- Work with the CFO on corporate refinancing for the 2028 bond maturity.
The Person – Key Capabilities
We seek a highly numerate, analytical leader with:
- Accountancy/Treasury qualification and 3–5 years post-qualification experience in a similar international group.
- Cross-regional experience managing financial operations teams.
- Strong interpersonal & motivational skills—able to elucidate complex finance concepts to non-financial professionals.
- Commercial, energetic mindset thriving in fast-paced, competitive environments.
- Organisational excellence with agility to manage multiple priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
