Our client is an established Crude and Oil Products trading company based in London, with physical assets across Europe. They actively source, refine, market and trade Crude Oil and Oil products, and associated financial derivatives.
About the Role
Candidates for this role should preferably hold professional accountancy and/or treasury qualifications and have gained several years of international corporate treasury experience. Applicants will need to demonstrate a pro-active, can-do attitude to join this small team at such a pivotal time for the Group. Reporting to the Head of Structured Finance, the Treasury Manager will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of the daily bank reconciliations for all business units and all their payments, to monitor the Working Capital position.
- Management of the Treasury Management System at Group and operational level including training of all users.
- Ensure data integrity between the trading and accounting systems, investigating or highlighting exceptions where necessary.
- Managing the development and delivery of any treasury projects covering all aspect of treasury management including integration of systems.
- Managing day to day banking relationships to maintain the Group FX lines, cash management and cash investments in line with business needs.
- Line management of small group treasury team.
- Working with Business Units to manage forex exposure and requesting execution any required Spot, Forward and Swap transactions.
- Setting up MT101/MT940/MT942 swift, SEPA, DTAZV and other payment/statement messages with FIDES for all local bank accounts in order to increase visibility and control of the Group on local cash management.
- Maintenance of banking mandates for all bank accounts, ensuring they are in line with Group Treasury policy and Group structure.
- Supporting Business Units with their cash forecasting process.
- Annual audits of all banking mandates of Group ensuring they are in line with Delegations of Authority.
- Ensuring compliance with treasury policies, sharing of best practice and coaching of local treasury teams.
- Ensuring there is a sound system of internal controls within the Treasury function and across the Group.
- Cash flow forecasting for the group and subsidiary levels.

Treasury Technology & Transformation
- Lead treasury technology initiatives, including Treasury Management System (TMS) implementations, upgrades, integrations, and optimisation programmes.
- Drive end-to-end treasury process improvements across front, middle, and back-office functions, ensuring robust controls, efficiency, and scalability.
- Partner with Finance, Technology, ERP, Shared Services, and operational teams to enhance treasury infrastructure and data quality.
- Oversee the integration of treasury systems with banking platforms, ERP environments, payment systems, cash forecasting tools, and reporting solutions.
- Champion automation and digitisation initiatives, reducing manual processes and enhancing straight-through processing (STP).
- Leverage data analytics, reporting tools, and emerging treasury technologies to improve decision-making and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure treasury systems, controls, and operational processes remain fit for purpose and support future business growth.

Required Qualifications, Competencies & Technical Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in international treasury.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial and capital markets.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Sound understanding of accounting, legal and tax standards.
- Assertive and innovative.
- Familiar with products available in FX markets.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable; Thrives in changing, high pressured environments.
- Good technical skills.
- Language skills would be advantageous.
- Core skills in implementing treasury management systems.
- SAP knowledge preferable.
Advantageous, but not essential skills and experience
- Graduate with a Bachelor or Master degree in Business or other financial area.
- Professionally qualified or working towards a qualification in accounting, treasury or corporate finance (ACA, ACCA, AMCT, MCT or CFA).
- Experience leading treasury transformation, systems implementation, upgrade, integration, or automation projects.
- Knowledge of Treasury Management Systems (TMS), ERP platforms, banking connectivity, payment systems, and treasury technology infrastructure.
- Experience optimising front-, middle-, and back-office treasury processes and controls.
- Exposure to M&A, treasury integration, shared services, in-house banking, or cash pooling structures.
- Strong project and change management experience within complex, multinational organisations.
