Growth Director SMR

Growth Director - Mobile Mechanics

Transforming vehicle maintenance, repair, and recovery services is our core responsibility at RAC.

With access to over 15 million members, a rapidly expanding Mobile Mechanics proposition, and a clear ambition to accelerate growth, we’re investing in the right leadership to drive the next phase of development. This is a critical leadership opportunity, reporting directly into the SMR Division’s leadership team.

About the Role

As the Growth Director for Mobile Mechanics, you’ll define, refine, and execute the commercial growth strategy for our on-the-go fleet of Mechanics. You’ll work at pace, influencing growth across the business to deliver:

  • Turbulent member acquisition through targeted digital marketing and key commercial levers
  • Improved conversion and engagement through tailored, automated CRM strategies
  • Elevated profitability by unlocking value from existing membership, whilst pioneering fresh growth opportunities

Your vision will drive sustainable growth, fostering long-term loyalty and engagement while seamlessly scaling innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement a high-impact growth strategy that scales demand, conversions, and lifetime value for RAC members
  • Set and deliver performance targets across acquisition, engagement, and retention aligned with business priorities

Digital & Customer Growth

  • Bring pace and accountability to weekly trading activities to drive impact in PPC, SEO, digital marketing, and CRM
  • Apply data insights to optimise lifecycle strategies, prioritising retention, cross-sell opportunities, and member loyalty
  • Drive ecommerce performance throughout the customer journey, using testing, experimentation, and behavioural insights

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
