About GX

General Index (GX) is the commodity benchmark provider based on the most data. We produce over ~6,000 daily energy prices - in crude oil & refined products, biofuels, hydrogen, and carbon markets - which our clients (such as Exxon, Bloomberg, BP, Shell and Two Sigma) use to make critical energy & investment decisions. Our unique approach collates thousands of trades from 200 data partners and applies expert-designed algorithms based on detailed methodologies to calculate prices.

Backed by Chalfen Ventures, Molten Ventures and 20VC, we have an experienced team with proven leadership – as well as a rapidly growing customer and partner base. With offices in London, Krakow, Houston, and Singapore, we're growing quickly, and we're looking for a Growth Marketing Lead to help us tell our story, deepen our market presence, generate demand, and build a category-defining brand.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an AI-first marketer who loves getting their hands dirty, thrives in fast-moving environments, and can achieve outsized results with limited resources. You'll work directly with our leadership team to shape our global marketing strategy, create compelling campaigns, launch new products, ensure commercial growth, and help further establish General Index as one of the most exciting companies in the commodities industry. The right person will be relentlessly curious, commercially minded, customer obsessed, and excited by the possibilities that AI creates for modern marketing.

You will:

  • Own and execute the marketing strategy across brand, demand generation, content, events, partnerships and product marketing
  • Build campaigns that generate awareness, engagement, pipeline and revenue
  • Optimize our PLG motion in partnership with product and sales
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their challenges, and the markets they operate in
  • Turn complex data content into engaging, accessible content in partnership with our product team
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, content creation, campaign execution and performance analysis
  • Manage our website, social channels, email marketing and marketing technology stack
  • Support major industry events, webinars and customer-facing initiatives
  • Create customer stories, case studies and thought leadership content (often working alongside key partners)
  • Experiment constantly with new ideas, channels and approaches
  • Track performance and continuously improve marketing effectiveness through data-driven decision making

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for:

Curiosity Above All Else

You don't need to arrive as a commodities expert (although that would be a nice bonus). We're far more interested in someone who is genuinely curious about customers, industries, technology and how markets work. You enjoy asking questions, learning quickly, and developing expertise in complex subjects.

AI-First Mindset

You are very active in using AI in your day-to-day work. You're excited by how AI is reshaping marketing and are constantly looking for ways to work smarter and move faster in your pursuit of pipeline.

Builder Mentality

You've worked in environments where resources were limited and expectations were high. You know how to prioritize, execute and create impact without needing a large team around you.

Strong Marketing Fundamentals

You may come from a B2B SaaS, data, technology, fintech, energy or consulting background.

You understand how to:

  • Build demand generation programs
  • Create compelling content
  • Position products effectively
  • Support sales teams
  • Measure marketing performance
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Use data to drive decisions on marketing investment
  • Ensure brand consistency
