Growth Marketing Lead | High-Growth Fintech Scaleup

We're partnering with a fast-growing, well-backed fintech scaleup on an incredible trajectory, growing fast and almost entirely through referral and word of mouth, without ever having built a formal growth function. That's about to change, and they want someone brilliant to build it.

To date they've had a marketing team of 10 across brand, content, and comms. They've recently hired their first CMO to build a modern marketing organization, and this will be the CMO's first strategic hire.

They're looking for a Growth Marketing Lead with prior fintech or finance experience to build the CRM and growth engine from the ground up, owning the full customer journey from first interest through to conversion, retention, and referral.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role at the commercial heart of the business, working closely with Marketing, Commercial, and Leadership. It's viewed internally as one of the most important hires the CMO will make.

Why This Role?

  • Be the first dedicated Growth Marketing hire, reporting directly to a newly appointed CMO.
  • Build the CRM and lifecycle function from scratch, no legacy systems, no inherited playbook, no tech debt to work around.
  • Own the customer journey end to end, from first touch through nurture, conversion, retention, and referral.
  • Help shape an AI-native marketing function from day one.
  • Work on a genuinely complex, high-stakes product where getting the lifecycle right actually matters commercially.
  • Enjoy startup ownership with the backing and investment of a well-funded, scaling business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the end-to-end growth and lifecycle strategy, from prospect through to nurture, conversion, and referral.
  • Build the CRM infrastructure and customer journeys from the ground up, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks across a long, considered decision cycle.
  • Partner closely with Commercial to identify high-value prospects and deliver the right message through the right channel at the right time.
  • Run targeted awareness activity that keeps the brand front of mind with a niche, high-value audience, this is about relevance, not reach.
  • Own the broader growth strategy across channels and partnerships.
  • Build a referral engine that turns satisfied customers into a compounding acquisition channel.
  • Own growth reporting, translating funnel performance into clear commercial insight for the CMO and leadership.
  • Bring an AI-first mindset, embedding AI into workflows, experimentation, and decision-making wherever it adds real advantage.

What We're Looking For

  • Genuine end-to-end ownership of CRM and lifecycle marketing, not just executing campaigns inside a CRM platform.
  • Experience marketing to a smaller, high-value audience with a long, considered buying journey, not a high-volume, low-consideration funnel.
  • Strong commercial thinking, comfortable forming a hypothesis, testing it, and iterating fast.
  • Comfortable running targeted awareness campaigns as part of a wider growth strategy, this is not a traditional paid acquisition or performance role.
  • Genuinely curious about AI, already using it to improve how you work, not just aware of it.
  • Experience in a regulated or highly compliant industry is a real advantage here, you'll understand exactly why that discipline matters.
  • A builder's mindset, someone who wants to create the processes and systems, not inherit someone else's.

This Role Would Suit You If...

You've built CRM or lifecycle programmes for customers making a significant, considered decision, not an impulse purchase. That could be fintech, wealthtech, investment platforms, insurance, or another regulated space where trust has to be earned before someone commits real money.

This Role Might Not Be Right If...

  • Your experience has been primarily performance marketing with limited ownership of CRM or lifecycle strategy.
  • Your background is mostly compliance or operational comms rather than customer growth.
  • You prefer established processes rather than building functions from the ground up.
