About Us

At Gridcog, we're on a mission to accelerate investment in the clean energy transition. We're a SaaS start-up of energy nerds building the best project modelling software around, used on everything from co-located solar and storage to microgrids and EV fleets. Our clients, many of the world's leading Developers, IPPs, Consultants and Energy Users, are putting hundreds of millions into the transition, and we help them direct that money into the right projects: the ones that make both commercial and environmental sense.

Requirements

Who We're Looking For

We've built a strong brand through thought leadership. Our analysis, videos and newsletters get noticed by the people who matter in energy, and our website already pulls in plenty of visitors and a steady flow of leads. But we learn very little about who those people are, and we know it could all work much harder. The engine underneath the brand, organic search, conversion, nurture, is still to be built. That's this role. You'll turn attention we already earn into pipeline, and build the systems that tell us who's paying attention so sales can act on it.

You'll report to our Head of Marketing and work alongside our Marketing Manager - Content & Events as part of a small, globally spread team. This is a hands-on role. We don't work with agencies; we'd rather do things in-house, use AI to punch above our weight, and bring in specialists only where they really add value. You'll have real ownership: the growth strategy is yours to build and execute with the Head of Marketing, not a brief to pick up.

Energy marketing tends to be boring. That's not us, and it's not our vision. We want someone who experiments constantly, measures everything, and kills what isn't working without being precious about it. Maybe you've been the growth engine at another B2B tech company, or cut your teeth at a growth agency running ten experiments a week; what matters is that you've built something like this before and you'd rather get stuck in than manage a process. If this sounds like you, please read on!

What You'll Do

  • Build and execute Gridcog's growth strategy with the Head of Marketing, spanning organic, paid and conversion, and own the numbers that come with it
  • Grow our organic presence: own our SEO and GEO strategy and execution so the people searching for answers about energy project modelling find us first
  • Test the newest forms of growth marketing, like working out what it takes for Gridcog to get picked up and referenced by AI search, and getting us there early
  • Make our website work much harder: improve journeys, landing pages, forms and calls to action so more visitors become leads, and we learn far more about the ones who do
  • Give our best content a second life: repurpose our thought leadership, videos and analysis into lead magnets, gated content and paid campaigns that pull people into our funnel
  • Build out our martech stack so we understand who's visiting our website, engaging with our newsletters and consuming our content, and advise on the tools we need to do it well
  • Turn those signals into nurture campaigns that warm up prospects and hand sales leads worth their time
  • Test paid channels where they can earn their keep: start small, measure honestly, scale what works and kill what doesn't
  • Run growth experiments properly: a prioritised pipeline, a regular rhythm of what worked, what didn't and what's next, and no time wasted on anything that isn't moving the numbers
  • Work closely with sales so follow-up is fast and nothing warm goes cold
  • Bring bold ideas: new channels, new formats, new plays we haven't thought of yet

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Success Looks Like

  • Prospects find us on Google before they meet us at a trade show
  • The website is our hardest-working salesperson
  • Every great piece of content has a second life as a magnet, a campaign or an ad
  • We know who's on our site and what they care about, and so does sales
  • Newsletter readers become pipeline, not just subscribers

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

  • A track record of growing organic traffic and inbound leads in B2B SaaS or another complex technical market
  • Strong SEO skills, from keyword and content strategy through to technical SEO and measurement
  • Conversion optimisation experience: landing pages, user journeys, A/B testing and the patience to iterate
  • Experience building nurture and marketing automation campaigns that sales teams actually thank you for
  • Comfort with martech: analytics, tracking and CRM, plus the judgement to evaluate and implement new tools where we need them
  • Strong measurement discipline: you know your numbers, you report on them honestly, and you change course when they tell you to
  • A doer's mindset: you'd rather build, launch and learn than write a strategy deck about it
  • An AI-native way of working: you use AI tools every day to move faster and do more with less, and you know when to override them
