Guest Support Security Officer
Rate: £14.87 per hour Contracted Hours: 48 hrs per week (Rotating 4 days on, 4 days off, nights and weekends required)

Core Duties
You will be responsible for the following duties, while maintaining a high standard of customer service and security vigilance:
Patrol & Site Operation
- Conduct rotational foot patrols around the entire site, including perimeter fencing, car parks, landscaped gardens, lakeside paths, meeting areas, shops, and cafes.
- Monitor and secure vehicle and pedestrian entry/exit points, guiding guests and maintaining a welcoming presence.
Event & Security Support
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for events, sports, and entertainment held on the events plaza.
- Operate security and health & safety equipment, such as:

Intruder alarms

Defibrillators (defibs)

First aid kits
-
Fire alarms
-
Intercom systems
-
Security doors
-
Incident Response & Compliance
- Follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to respond to incidents.
- Act under the direction of the Duty Shift Manager, Security Manager, and Deputy Security Manager as required.
- Conduct periodic vehicle, personnel, and site searches when necessary.

Customer Interaction & Conflict Resolution
- Deliver a five-star security and customer service experience, including:
- Providing directions
- Answering guest queries
- Escalating unresolved issues autonomously
- Display strong soft skills, diplomacy, and problem-solving to:
- Defuse conflicts
- Resolve disputes calmly
- Ensure amicable resolutions
- Occasionally assist non-security operations to maintain park tidiness (e.g., litter collection, maintenance reporting).
Professional Presentation & Vigilance
- Maintain a smart, highly visible appearance to deter threatening behaviour.
- Demonstrate sharp observation skills to identify security concerns promptly.

This role requires a mix of technical competence, physical fitness, and interpersonal skills:
Essential Skills & Attributes

Proficient use of technical security systems, including:
- Patrol scanners
- Personal radios
- Body-worn cameras
- Electronic access gates

Physical fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, patrol facilities on foot, and respond quickly during incidents in emergencies.

Strong tolerance for crowded environments, public interaction, and operating in a fast-paced, professional setting.

Independent working skills with the ability to handle responsibilities autonomously while still collaborating effectively as part of a team.

Commitment to maintaining high personal standards of professionalism and discretion.

License & Qualification Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor (D.S.) license is mandatory.
- CCTV license is a plus for covering control room breaks.
- At least 1 year of related experience in the security industry (experience relevant to your background).
