Guidance Leader – Cavendish School – Secondary Phase

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
  • Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time only (Including INSET days, plus an extra week in school holidays)
  • Single Status Grade: 6 Points: 14-16
  • Salary Range (pro rata): £26,824 - £27,694 Actual Pay: £23,768 - £24,538
  • Start Date: 1 September 2026
  • Closing Date: 9am, Monday 13 July 2026
  • Interview Date: Wednesday 15 July 2026

About the Role

Cavendish Education Trust are seeking to appoint a Guidance Leader in the Secondary Phase of our All-through School.

This role plays a critical role in enhancing pastoral care within our school. The selected candidate will be a positive, driven professional, able to inspire and support our students to thrive academically, personally, socially, and emotionally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to a year group as the primary Guidance Leader, working closely alongside Head of Year
  • Work with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Secondary Phase), ensuring robust safeguarding processes are in place
  • Lead and manage a team with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Engage with and deeply understand the needs of young people within the school
  • Engage effectively with parents, students, staff, and external agencies
