What you’ll do
- Coach tech leads and delivery squads toward modern engineering practice - automated testing, trunk-based development, CI/CD, and progressive delivery - working at both low (hands-on) and high (architecture/strategy) levels.
- Identify what blocks continuous delivery in a Guidewire Cloud context and lead the work to dismantle those blockers.
- Represent the squads’ platform needs to Guidewire: frame, prioritize, and drive platform asks and limitations with the vendor.
- Raise the bar on code review, automation, and delivery quality through influence rather than authority.
- Help define and measure engineering-maturity targets, and show real, evidenced uplift over time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The balance we’re looking for (please read before submitting)
This is the crux of the role. We need someone genuinely strong on both sides - deep Guidewire-Cloud platform expertise and modern continuous-delivery / DevOps engineering - plus a track record of coaching senior engineers. Please don’t put forward pure-Guidewire profiles with weak engineering practice, or strong modern engineers with only surface Guidewire exposure, unless they truly have both.
Essential experience
- Senior-or-above, with real depth on the Guidewire Cloud Platform (InsuranceSuite - PolicyCenter / BillingCenter / ClaimCenter), including configuration-vs-customization judgement, Gosu/Java, integration patterns, and the cloud release/upgrade model.
- Demonstrable modern-engineering practice: automated testing strategy, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and a continuous-delivery mindset - ideally applied in a Guidewire setting.
- A genuine coaching/enablement track record: growing tech leads and squads and influencing teams that don’t report to them.
- Comfortable operating end-to-end - from low-level code to high-level architecture - and explaining trade-offs to both engineers and stakeholders
