Role Overview

This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager.

We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times.
  • Opening and closing the site when required due to operational hours of the business. Expectation to work early mornings, late weekdays, and weekends.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
  • Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
  • Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
  • Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
  • Ensure that the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness. Maintain outside contract cleaning hours.
  • Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
  • Ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members.
  • Always deliver outstanding member service.
  • Help create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy themselves whilst at work.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties/projects/meetings that may be required.
  • Always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.

  • Must have experience in a management position within a leisure-related industry. Ideally as an Assistant Manager, helping to oversee all business areas within a leisure facility or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational role.
  • Must be passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader in management.
  • Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
  • Experience in driving sales and helping to coordinate local marketing activity.
  • Manage a successful team.
