Hadoop Data Engineer
Hadoop Data Engineer (Financial Services)
About the Role
Seeking a results-driven Hadoop Data Engineer with expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable financial data processing systems. Focus on building robust ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance while transforming raw financial data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Design & Optimise: Develop and enhance Hadoop-based data ingestion and processing pipelines
- ETL/ELT Workflows: Build pipelining solutions using Spark, Hive, Sqoop, Kafka, and ecosystem tools
- Data Integration: Connect systems from banking, trading, payments, risk, and customer management
- Data Governance: Ensure data quality, security, compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, Basel III)
- Analytics & ML Readiness: Develop data models, warehouses, and marts for reporting and machine learning use cases
- Troubleshooting: Monitor and resolve issues in batch and real-time data processing jobs
