Are you ready to turn your passion for hair into a profession? Amici Hair is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to begin their journey in the hairdressing industry. You will work towards a nationally recognised qualification while gaining valuable experience in a professional salon environment.

Requirements

  • A passion for hair and the hairdressing industry
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to learn
  • Willingness to undertake an apprenticeship and work towards a qualification
  • Ability to maintain a smart and professional appearance
  • Preparedness to work Saturdays and late evenings
  • Alertness, enthusiasm, and proactivity in a fast-paced environment
  • Any relevant existing qualifications or industry experience will be considered and may adjust the apprenticeship content.

Responsibilities

  • Shampooing clients’ hair and applying treatments
  • Blow-drying and basic styling
  • Assisting senior stylists and other team members
  • Providing front-of-house support, including greeting clients and managing bookings
  • Carrying out general salon duties to maintain cleanliness and organisation
  • Adhering to legal and organisational requirements for the safe use of products, tools, materials and equipment
  • Applying safe, hygienic, and effective methods of working and infection control
  • Using communication and etiquette that meets industry requirements
  • Maintaining client confidentiality and comfort
  • Advising clients on the maintenance of looks, complementary services, and retail products
  • Promoting yourself, the organisation, products, and services via social channels
  • Carrying out wider salon duties to support the salon business (e.g., services, bookings, payments, retail, upselling, and sales)
  • Using a range of products, tools, and equipment in accordance with legal and organisational requirements
  • Completing and maintaining client records
  • Working as part of a team to support the salon business
  • Using working methods that promote environmental and sustainable practices
  • Carrying out consultations, examining and analysing hair, skin, and scalp
  • Identifying contraindications or limiting factors affecting services
  • Drying and finishing hair using a range of techniques
  • Using current setting and dressing techniques
  • Cutting hair using a range of technical skills and cutting techniques
  • Restyling hair to create personalised short or medium length haircuts
  • Completing a range of hair colouring and lightening services
  • Evaluating the results of services
