Hairdressing Apprenticeship at Coconuts Hair Studio

Ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to move into a hairdressing career. "Earn while you learn" with holiday pay.

Requirements

  • GCSE in English and Maths (grade 4-9 or C-A*)
  • Ease of commuting to work

Responsibilities

  • Shadowing experienced stylists
  • Shampooing and conditioning clients
  • Reception duties, meeting and greeting clients and providing refreshments
  • General cleaning
  • Helping with the day to day running of the salon
  • Work as part of a team
  • Attend regular training sessions
  • Carry out wider salon duties to support the salon business (e.g. services, bookings, payments, retail, upselling and sales)
  • Use working methods that promote environmental and sustainable working practices
  • Carry out a consultation, examine and analyse the hair, skin and scalp and complete relevant industry tests
  • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
  • Dry and finish hair using a range of techniques to create a range of looks
  • Use current setting and dressing techniques to create a range of looks
  • Cut hair using a range of technical skills and cutting techniques
  • Restyle hair to create a personalised short or medium (above the shoulder) length hair cut
  • Complete a range of hair colouring and lightening services
  • Evaluate the results of the service

Application Process

  • Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
  • Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
  • Training provider: J & E TRAINING CONSULTANTS LIMITED
  • Training course: Hairdressing professional (level 2)
  • Attending regular training sessions in salon and at JET Hairdressing Academy to achieve Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals qualification and Functional Skills English and maths at Level 2 if required.
  • If you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience, share them. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
