Beau Cheveux Hair Salon is offering a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to start their career in the Hairdressing Industry. The successful candidate will work towards a nationally recognised qualification while gaining invaluable hands-on experience and developing into a professional Hairdresser.
As an apprentice, you will be mentored by experienced Stylists and receive top-tier training from FG Apprenticeships, one of the UK’s leading Hairdressing Apprenticeship Training Providers.
Requirements
- Work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
- Gain first-hand experience in a professional salon environment.
- Assist experienced Stylists.
- Develop professional hairdressing skills.
- Attend specialist training sessions.
- Study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to legal and organisational requirements for the safe use of products, tools, materials and equipment.
- Apply safe, hygienic, and effective methods of working and infection control.
- Use communication and etiquette that meets industry requirements.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comfort.
- Advise clients on hair maintenance, complementary services, and retail products.
- Promote yourself, the organisation, products, and services via social channels.
- Carry out wider salon duties to support the business (e.g., services, bookings, payments, retail, upselling, and sales).
- Use a range of products, tools, and equipment in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
- Complete and maintain client records.
- Work as part of a team.
- Use working methods that promote environmental and sustainable practices.
- Carry out client consultations, examine and analyse hair, skin, and scalp, and complete relevant industry tests.
- Identify contraindications or limiting factors that may affect a service.
- Shampoo, condition, and treat hair and scalp.
- Dry and finish hair using a range of techniques.
- Use setting and dressing techniques to create a variety of looks.
- Cut hair using a range of technical skills and cutting techniques.
- Restyle hair to create personalised short or medium length haircuts.
- Complete a range of hair colouring and lightening services.
- Evaluate the results of services.
- Previous relevant qualifications and industry experience can be reflected in the apprenticeship adjustments.

Responsibilities
- Meeting and greeting clients.
- Providing front-of-house support.
- Supplying refreshments for clients.
- Assisting other team members.
- General salon upkeep.
- Shampooing, conditioning, and treating hair and scalp.
- Blow drying hair.

Beau Cheveux is a modern hair and beauty salon located in Chasetown, Burntwood, offering a friendly and relaxing environment. Launched in February 2012 by Stephanie Sadler, the salon has undergone three significant refurbishments to maintain its modern appeal and expand its services. The most recent refurbishment in 2021 introduced a brand-new beauty department, allowing Beau Cheveux to offer both hair and beauty services.
