Job Description

The post holder will gain clinical and operative skills under the direct supervision of the consultants on the Upper Limb/Hand & Trauma Team. The post holder will conduct clinics, operating lists, ward rounds and assist with clinical management with the consultants and on behalf of the consultants’ during their absence.

With adequate experience, the post holder will be encouraged to undertake additional clinics and operating lists independently.

The objective of the post is to develop from a senior registrar role to a point of overall competence to work in and lead a specialist Hand practice.

The successful applicant will be involved in research activity as part of a national clinical trials programme and the applicant will be given training and guidance to ensure they are competent to take consent for our various projects, collect data, record this appropriately and submit to our grant awarding bodies.
