Handyperson
Handyperson – Rainham, London
Location: Rainham – London Salary: Up to £33,194.87 per annum Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
About the Role
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Handyperson to join our Repairs and Maintenance team after recent internal promotion. This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of practical ability, customer service, and teamwork. You’ll assist in maintaining our properties against damp and mould, performing a range of maintenance tasks to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the damp & mould team with mould prevention
- Install fixtures, including curtains, blinds, and door handles, with attention to detail
- Perform painting and decorating tasks requiring organisation and presentation
- Fix leaking waste pipes and carry out minor plumbing repairs
- Replace light bulbs and check smoke alarms, ensuring safety standards
- Support cleaning and waste collection duties (training provided)
- Work collaboratively in the Repairs and Maintenance team, prioritising reliability and teamwork
- Deliver excellent customer service with a professional and customer-focused attitude
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents, using clear verbal and interpersonal skills
- Solve problems independently with confidence and initiative
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and cost control

Essential Criteria
- Experience dealing with damp and mould issues
- General handyperson/maintenance experience
- Experience carrying out UPVC window and door repairs
- Full UK driving licence
- Ownership of basic hand tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience in window repairs and maintenance
