Outside IR35 • Excellent Day Rate (£60–£80 ph +) • Majority Remote • 6-Month Contract
Looking for your next contract where you’ll own the entire system—not just one part of it?
We’re working with an innovative technology company developing market-leading wireless products, seeking an experienced Electronics / Systems Architect to join their small, specialised engineering team.
About the Role
This is not a role for someone staying within a single discipline. It’s for an engineer who loves understanding how a product comes together—from electronics, digital systems, RF, testing, integration, and right through to the end customer application.
You'll be working across:
- System architecture
- Hardware integration
- PCB design (Altium experience is desirable)
- Lab testing and debugging
- Measurement & validation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The goal? Solving real-world engineering challenges, guiding products from concept to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Shape system architecture and end-to-end solutions for complex wireless products.
- Lead hardware integration of digital, analog, and RF components.
- Design and debug high-density multi-layer PCBs with complex interconnections.
- Develop test automation scripts (preferably in Python or similar).
- Conduct practical lab-based testing, debugging, and system validation.
- Work hands-on with Software Defined Radio (SDR) or adaptive wireless systems.
- Collaborate closely in a small, highly technical team, owning full system responsibility.
A Bluetooth product background would be a distinct advantage—though not mandatory.
Requirements
- Broad electronics & systems engineering experience
- Strong RF knowledge—able to apply it within a complete system context
- Proven experience in hardware, digital, and communications integration
- Hands-on PCB design & debugging (preferably with Altium)
- Test automation scripting (Python/objective similar supported)
- Approach rooted in lab work—prefers real-world validation over simulation
- Experience with SDR/WiFi/Bluetooth systems (advantageous)
- Thrives in multi-discipline ownership—comfortable seeing the bigger picture
- Ability to debug complex issues and lead design improvements
