Security Clearance: Must be eligible for, or able to obtain, SC security clearance

At RTX—home to 185,000 brilliant minds across aerospace, defence, and security—we tackle the world’s most complex challenges. Through our three industry-leading divisions (Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney), we innovate, deliver cutting-edge systems, and inspire progress. Join a legacy of 100+ years of aerospace expertise where every challenge shapes a safer, more secure future. Together, we redefine what’s possible.

About the Role

We seek a Hardware Design Authority specialising in power electronics leadership, ideally someone who thrives on technically demanding projects and loves shaping product direction. As the technical authority within our hardware design team, you’ll guide complex electronic systems from early concept studies to service support, overseeing every phase of the product lifecycle while mentoring engineers to elevate design standards.

As the "gatekeeper" of design assurance, you’ll ensure compliance with customer and internal requirements, guaranteeing quality, safety, and manufacturability. This is a senior leadership position—not just a job, but a chance to leave a lasting mark.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead) Drive product design assurance and quality throughout the lifecycle.
  • Mentor) Guide and grow hardware engineers and future Design Authorities (DAs).
  • Oversight) Provide technical leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Development) Champion power electronic systems design, from concept to qualification and beyond.
  • Compliance) Advance Safety, Quality, and Compliance, embracing internal/external processes rigorously.
  • Problem-solving) Resolve complex technical challenges across both new developments and legacy products.
  • Requirements Management) Translate customer needs into clear, structured design specifications.
  • Design Execution) Ensure high-quality schematics, simulations, PCB layouts, and component selection/verification.
  • Process Leadership) Lead design reviews, commissioning, fault diagnosis, and lifecycle support.
  • Resource Alignment) Manage cost, schedule, and budgets in line with approved business goals.
  • Standards Adherence) Guarantee compliance with industry standards, customer definitions, and regulations.
  • Change Management) Maintain and enforce configuration control and managed design changes.
  • Clarity Champions) Drive clearer, more actionable technical documentation and reports.
  • Customer Advocate) Liaise as a technical authority in expert discussions with customers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
