Job Description Summary The Electronic Hardware Engineer is the engineering design authority for assigned aviation products. This leadership development role is within the sustaining engineering team and has technical responsibility for aerospace electronics and primary and secondary power distribution products as they are introduced into production and throughout their lifecycle. The key responsibilities are design authority and ownership of all technical issues; this includes through-life design support activities, product improvement, lessons learned and the management of small projects. Job Description Provide post-design support of engineering issues, establishing root cause analysis and process improvements as appropriate. Managing obsolescence issues, including re-design, risk analysis, cost, last-time-buy, documentation configuration and customer approval. Ensuring adherence to the CCD’s is followed. Management and approval of corrective actions and non-conformances. Liaison between customers, suppliers, and multiple internal departments. Management of certification, re-qualification, and re-verification activities. Communicate throughout all levels of the business, giving regular progress reports to peers and colleagues. Identify, develop, and implement continual improvement practices in all business areas worked also ensuring all lessons learnt back into relevant design teams. Support of customer returns with detailed root cause analysis and investigation. Responsible for Supply Chain design engineer support Accountable for cost analysis, OEM & work with PSE on customer returns, and recommend ideas for improvement Accountable for obsolescence tracking, and managing small obsolescence updates Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in relevant field from an accredited university or college (or equivalent knowledge and experience) Extensive knowledge of one or more of (Electronic Product) systems engineering, analogue electronics, digital electronics, or mechanical engineering design Working knowledge of product design lifecycle, qualification, and verification methods Experience in engineering management or a leadership role within an engineering environment with direct people management responsibility Proven analytical and organizational ability A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness and an enthusiasm and passion for Systems Engineering will help you succeed in the department.
