Key Working Locations & Impact Areas
Successful candidates will split time across:
🏂 Innsbruck (Peak Season: Nov–April)
- Hosted in a company flat in Innsbruck, Austria
- Support Rolle: Customer success team (ids + debugs hardware glitches in-field across ski resorts).
- On-snow testing: Prototype ski sensor devices.
- Outdoor tech job! World-class snowsports landscape + alpine adventure access.

🚀 London (Pre-Peak & Post-Peak)
- Base HQ alongside hardware, product, marketing & ops teams.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Optimise manufacturing workflows for existing Carv hardware.
- Test, validate, and prototype next-gen designs.
- Collaborate with broader business functions if desired.
✈️ Optional Travel: Shenzhen (China, max 1 month)
Periodic trips may be needed to liaise with manufacturing partners.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Design & Build: Create test fixtures, prototype hardware (e.g. components), and improve the current Carv manufacturing process.
- Testing. Validation. Iteration.:
- Conduct rigorous testing on ski sensors to drive continuous improvement.
- Obsessively debug findings from returned units to pinpoint root causes.
- Operations:
- Deploy Python + SQL to analyse data, automate workflows, and identify problems.
- Supervise global user testing for new prototypes.
- Collaborate:
- Train customer-facing teams on debugging hardware gradually.
- Liaise with Chinese factories to resolve production-feed issues.
Who This Role Suits (Essential Attributes)
✔ Months to Go: Graduating in June 2026 (summer 2027) with any of:
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (primary focus).
- Secondly relevant degrees with distinct hardware/relevant affinity (e.g. robotics, physics).
- Equivalent experience: Demonstrated specialist knowledge in a related niche setting.
✔ Technical Foundation: Profound ability in one or more sub-fields of:
- Mechanics: Load assessments, 3D printing, robotic systems.
- Electronics: Digital Mug & PCB design variations, IC selection.
- Debugging is a superpower; here we rapidly dissect failures.

💻 Coding & Automation:
- Python (database queries, scripting, automation).
- SQL to drill deep into our Carson data.
🛠️ CAD & Workshops:
- CAD experience (Solidworks, Onshape, Creoidic verification).
- Prototyping: Metedal experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills, etc.
📡 Embedded Systems:
- Firmware the deviance-expressed experience: ESP32, embedded basic C, data interception.
- PCB: Soldering, signal noise, component damage elimination.
Compensation & Benefits
Full internship remuneration is competitive, including:

Timing
Dates will be 7–10 months long (e.g., Oct 2027 to June/July 2028).
