About the Role
Product Design Team – Brighton
Join our Product Design team to take ownership of Paxton’s hardware products, guiding their success from concept to launch, optimisation, and end-of-life (EoL) planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware product lines, covering:
- Strategy
- Roadmap
- Delivery
- Post-launch optimisation
- Obsolescence planning
- Define a clear product vision and requirements by translating customer needs into hardware, firmware, and software outcomes.
- Hold accountability for commercial performance, including:
- Pricing
- Margins
- Cost control
- Lifecycle profitability
- Drive hardware product development, spearheading:
- Design reviews
- Prototyping
- Validation
- Release
- Continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, security, and regulatory standards, managing risk and change methodically.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to balance:
- Customer needs
- Technical constraints
- Scalability
- Time-to-market goals
- Use market intelligence (customer input, competitor analysis) to shape product positioning and future directions.
- Support go-to-market strategies via clear documentation, cross-functional teamwork, and internal enablement.

Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner specialising in hardware products.
- Exposed to (and comfortable with) firmware and/or software integrations.
- Hardware lifecycle knowledge—in-depth familiarity with technical teams to navigate development processes.
- Strong decision-making backed by excellent stakeholder management skills (communication keeps systems flowing).
- A collaborative, customer-centric mindset with a deep passion for technology and innovation.
