About the Role
Expleo is a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services, and management consulting, specialising in digital transformation. We help businesses harness unrelenting technological change to deliver innovations that improve lives and create competitive advantages.
As part of our Aerospace Systems Engineering expansion, we are seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to support the development and certification of next-generation electric rotorcraft (eVTOL) platforms.
This hands-on engineering role is critical to ensuring the integrity, performance, and safety of hardware systems through rigorous ground-based and rig-based testing, supporting both verification and certification activities. You will work on cutting-edge aerospace systems, including structural assemblies, propulsion components, and integrated aircraft systems.
This opportunity allows you to contribute directly to validating innovative electric aviation technology as it progresses toward certification and commercial service.
Location: Hybrid working in Bristol.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute hardware test plans covering structural, propulsion, and system-level testing.
- Define and implement test strategies, including the selection of methods, instrumentation, and success criteria, aligned with programme needs.
- Design and support test rigs, fixtures, and instrumentation setups, ensuring safe and effective test execution.
- Conduct laboratory, rig-based, and ground testing, ensuring accurate data acquisition and traceability.
- Analyse test data to assess performance, validate requirements, and identify anomalies.
- Produce high-quality test reports, including results, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Support system functional testing to demonstrate correct operation before and/or after installation on aircraft.
- Collaborate with systems, design, and safety teams to ensure test activities align with programme objectives.
- Support test readiness activities, including developing procedures, risk assessments, and safety provisions.
- Assist with integration testing and troubleshooting, including hardware-software interactions where applicable.
- Contribute to certification activities, supporting compliance demonstration through structured test evidence.
- Ensure all test activities comply with relevant standards, processes, and safety requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
