About the Role
We are seeking dynamic, guest-obsessed operators to build high-performance teams capable of delivering exceptional service in alignment with Medlock Square’s ambitious vision.
Position: Head Bartender
Premium / High-Energy Hospitality Environment
As Head Bartender, you will lead the bar operation, ensuring fluorescence in drinks, guest experience, and team performance within a fast-paced, event-driven venue.

This role demands hands-on leadership to:
- Set and uphold quality standards in drink execution, presentation, and service
- Develop a skilled, cohesive bar team while maintaining operational pace
- Support both non-event and event days, adapting services to guest needs
- Collaborate with floor staff to deliver seamless, immersive guest moments
You will contribute directly to Medlock Square’s success as a world-class entertainment and cultural destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee bar team performance, ensuring consistency, pace, and guest satisfaction
- Execute premium cocktails, wines, and beverages in line with brand standards
- Sustain razor-high standards for cleanliness, bar organisation, and presentation
- Manage stocks, minimise waste, and oversee ordering processes
- Foster guest engagement through exceptional service and product knowledge
- Drive revenue growth via upselling techniques and sophisticated service
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership as a Head Bartender, Senior Bartender, or Bar Supervisor in high-volume, premium environments
- Strong cocktail knowledge with passion for drink innovation
- Experience leading service in fast-paced, high-energy settings
- Ability to calmly direct teams during peak rushes
- Familiarity with licensing laws, alcohol service standards, and health & safety protocols
- Outstanding communication skills for both team mentoring and guest interactions
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, and event shifts

Desirable Qualities
- Experience in concept-led hospitality or venue launches
- Expertise in premium liquor or cocktail industry trends
- Knowledge of stock management systems
- Background in hosting high-profile events, concerts, or conventions
