About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead the culinary team at 4 Cannon Street, a hands-on leadership position focused on:

  • Delivering outstanding food quality
  • Inspiring and developing a high-performing kitchen team
  • Ensuring consistency, safety, innovation, and sustainability in line with BaxterStorey’s ethics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team to foster a positive, inclusive culture
  • Design high-quality, fresh, seasonal menus aligned with BaxterStorey’s ethos
  • Plan, develop cost-effective, commercially viable menus with innovation at its core
  • Maintain rigorous standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance (HACCP)
  • Effectively manage kitchen budgets, food costs, stock, and ordering systems
  • Collaborate with site management and clients to deliver seamless food service operations
  • Ensure consistency across all services, including hospitality and events
  • Champion sustainability, waste reduction, and responsible sourcing

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef capable of stepping into a senior leadership role
  • A passionate commitment to fresh food, quality ingredients, and modern cooking techniques
  • Natural leadership skills, with great people management and clear communication
  • Strong understanding of food safety, allergen management, and health & safety protocols
  • Commercial acumen, with experience in budget management and cost control
  • Organised and proactive, able to excel in a fast-paced environment

Salary & Work Profile:

  • Salary range: £45,000–£52,000 (job posting states Up to £52,000 but notes salary in additional info as £45,000–£48,000; aligned with lower range here)
  • Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday
  • Permanent employment
  • Location: Cannon Street, London
