Head Chef – Hospitality & Retail, City of London

Position: Head Chef Salary: Up to £50,000 Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 40 per week (Monday to Friday)

The Role

Your Responsibilities

As our Head Chef, your focus will be on leading with vision, inspiring creativity, and driving excellence—ensuring every dish we serve meets the highest standards.

  • Lead & Inspire: Mentor, train, and empower your team to deliver consistently exceptional standards through collaboration, coaching, and empowerment.
  • Build Trust & Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, elevating service with obsessive attention to food standards.
  • Harness Innovation: Drive a culture of creative excellence, delivering memorable culinary experiences that blur the line between art and gastronomy.
  • Strategic Leadership: Align with business-critical KPIs, including health and safety, sustainability, financial efficiency, and governance.
  • Key Performer & Influencer: Excel as a financially astute leader, adept at budget management, cost control, and commercial growth.

Who You Are

Essential Qualifications & Skills

✔ Proven Head Chef experience (or equivalent) ✔ Relentless passion for food—creativity, menú innovation, and sensory excellence ✔ Proven team leader with experience in training, mentoring, and fostering high performance ✔ Strategic thinker & commercial élus

  • Skilled in budget analysis, financial forecasting, and driving cost efficiencies
  • A solution-oriented problem solver, thriving in fast-paced environments ✔ Exceptional communication & influence
  • Empathetic, articulate, and adaptable in verbal and written interactions ✔ Attention to detail & organisation
